Seems that Apple sees some potential and or a need for the .guru extensions, as they secured a few .guru domains – Apple.guru, iPad.guru, iMac.guru  and iPhone.guru.  Apple associates ‘Genius’ to its online recommending features, and their in-store support staff, so they may want it for the close association to that term, that it projects. The domains aren’t active yet, so whether it’s a defensive move,or some future project is unknown at present, but it goes to show that big corps are aware of the new gTLDs, and willing to spend for them too.  Read more here.
